WHY YOU MIGHT BE UNSUCCESSFUL AFTER FERVENT PRAYER AND HARD WORK
YOU MIGHT BE USING YOUR BRAIN LESS
Prayer is important but God designed your brain for a reason, he knows you need cognitive thought for you to navigate through life. Prayer, wisdom and discernment also needs your brain cells to establish itself, so what happens when your plans never come to life.
Over communication: the book of proverbs gives us a lot of insight on communications, one of them is “those who guard their mouths and their tongues, keep themselves from calamity.” When you give out too much information about your plans and future goals, sometimes it can be a form of self sabotage. The bible has instructed you to guard your tongue, this is not just about using the wrong words, also saying too much about something that is yet to come to fruition.
When you love to communicate with people, your openness becomes a problem. When discussing your future plans, you might tend to give away too much information. Competitors and even well-meaning friends might take advantage of your transparency, leaving you vulnerable and unprepared to protect your concepts and plans From getting to a wider audience that you never intended.
Seeking advice and validation from the wrong people: Are you constantly seeking validation from others or advice from the wrong people? Do you rely so much on other people's opinions?
No one knows your problem, your future plans, your future desire more than you do. People will give you opinions based on the information they have or have been exposed to regarding their own situation, or what they think is best for you. But the problem with that is, they might never fully understand your situation. The friend whom you seek validation or advice from, may not want what's best for you, some may advise you based on what is beneficial to them especially when they know you will be in their life for a long time. Some may have bias towards some choices in life that didn't work for them, thinking it won't work for you, so they think they are protecting you, but everyone's situation is different.
Instead of consulting experienced business owners or mentors, you turn to friends and acquaintances who lack the necessary knowledge. This can lead you down misguided paths, wasting time and resources on fruitless endeavors.
Inconsistency and confusion: walking down too many misguided paths leads to Inconsistency and confusion. 1st Corinthians 14:33 for God is not an author of confusion but of peace. How can your prayer work when you brain is confused?
inconsistency in actions is another obstacle. When you start various projects with enthusiasm but struggle to follow through, most of the time due to external factors. Your ambitions to be independent financially suffers as you frequently shift your focus between new ventures, unable to maintain a steady effort in any one direction.
Ignoring your Flaws: Are you deliberately ignoring your flaws? Feeling reluctant in confronting your flaws further impedes your progress. When you overlook your weaknesses, believing that your dedication to prayer will compensate for your shortcomings. This attitude prevents us from addressing critical areas of personal development that are essential for success. Everyone is built different, to function different.
Poor Timing: Timing is crucial in anything in life including future plans, when you fail to act at the right moment especially when opportunities arise, hoping for a divine sign or intervention. By the time you decide to act, the opportunity might have passed, leaving you with missed chances and regret. It's like ignoring a planting season for a particular crop, planting it whenever you like, then expecting to yield a Good harvest. It doesn't work like that.
Shortcuts Over Hard Work: frequently opting for shortcuts, relying on prayer to fill the gaps in your efforts. When you avoid the hard work and diligence required to build a successful business, believing that faith will miraculously bring success. This approach leaves you unprepared and ill-equipped to handle the challenges of future plans.
Eventually you're left disappointed, or thinking your prayers are not being answered, forgetting that God is committed to what he says, but you have to play your part.
Relying excessively on prayer while neglecting critical thinking and practical actions can have several potential drawbacks. Like I earlier stated, when God created man, he created the brain as a tool of great functionality, neglecting that tool, is invalidating the creation of God. He has placed the necessary information in your brain.
Balanced integration of faith, practical actions, and critical thinking is essential for overall well-being and effective problem-solving.
